LegWx™ Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and UNLNK Software, LLC ("unlnk™", "we", "us") about your use of LegWx™, at app.legwx.com and in any LegWx app (the "Service"). By signing in or using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. LegWx is a planning aid, not a weather briefing

LegWx is not an official weather briefing and is not approved by the FAA or any aviation authority. It is a planning aid that collects and compares forecasts published by others, mainly the US National Weather Service. Forecasts can be late, wrong, incomplete or missing, and LegWx's own ratings, summaries, suggested departure times, routes, altitudes, terrain information and alerts can be wrong too.

Before every flight, get a standard weather briefing from an official source such as Flight Service (1800wxbrief.com) and review all available information. As pilot in command you remain solely responsible for the decision to fly and for the safe conduct of every flight, including the preflight action required by 14 CFR 91.103. Maps and charts in LegWx are not for navigation. Trip alerts may be delayed or never arrive; never rely on them.

2. Access is by invitation or subscription

LegWx is not free. You may use it only if we have invited you or you hold an active paid subscription. Creating an account or signing in does not by itself give you access. We may grant, limit or end invitations at our discretion. You must be at least 18 years old.

3. Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google, Microsoft or Apple. Keep your email and those accounts secure; you are responsible for everything done through your account. Your access is personal: do not share your account or sign-in codes, and do not let others use the Service through your account. Tell us at info@unlnk.com if you think your account has been used without your permission.

4. Subscriptions and payment

If you buy a subscription, the price and billing period are shown when you buy, and payment is taken by Stripe. The subscription is for the email address you give when you buy, and that is the address you sign in with. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time online, from Account → Manage subscription in LegWx, or by writing to info@unlnk.com; cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting your account also stops the subscription renewing. A founding member price stays the same for as long as that subscription continues without a break. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable. We may change prices for future periods after telling you in advance; the change applies from your next renewal. Taxes are added where required.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense or publicly display the Service or its output, except sharing your own trips with people you fly with;
scrape, crawl or extract data from the Service by automated means, or use it to build a competing product;
reverse engineer, decompile or try to get the source code, except where the law allows it despite this limit;
copy or imitate the Service's design, screens, look and feel, or the way it rates, blends and presents forecasts;
use the Service or its output to train, test or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning model;
remove, hide or change any copyright, trademark or other notice, or frame or mirror any part of the Service;
use the Service to benchmark it or compare it for a competing product or service, or publish such results, without our written permission;
get around access controls, invitations, subscriptions, rate limits or security measures, or probe or test the Service's security without our written permission;
overload or interfere with the Service, or use it for anything unlawful.

6. Ours and theirs

The Service, its software, design and content are owned by UNLNK Software, LLC and protected by law. LegWx™ and unlnk™ are trademarks of UNLNK Software, LLC. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service under these terms while your access lasts; nothing else is licensed to you. Weather data, charts and maps come from the National Weather Service, NOAA, the FAA, USGS and others and remain theirs. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely.

7. Your data

The trips, aircraft, minimums and settings you save are yours. You let us store and process them to run the Service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can download them or delete your account at any time from Account in the app.

8. Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove features, and the Service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. We do not promise that the Service or any data source will be available at any particular time.

9. No warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, TIMELINESS AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY FORECAST, RATING, ALERT OR OTHER INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, UNLNK SOFTWARE, LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, AIRCRAFT DAMAGE, LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR ANY FLIGHT OR DECISION MADE USING IT, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND US $50. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify UNLNK Software, LLC against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms.

12. Ending

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access, with or without notice, if you break these terms, if your invitation or subscription ends, or if we stop offering the Service. Sections 1, 6 and 9 to 14 continue after your access ends.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute related to the Service will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
