LegWx™ Privacy Policy
Effective October 30, 2026
This policy explains what information UNLNK Software, LLC ("unlnk™", "we", "us") collects when you use LegWx™, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. In short: we keep what is needed to sign you in and keep your saved trips on your devices; we never sell, rent or share your information with anyone for their marketing or advertising; and we do not use advertising or ad tracking.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple (with the identifier that service gives us for you). Sign-in tokens from those services are stored encrypted and used only to finish signing in. We do not get your passwords.
- Sign-in sessions: a session cookie on your device, and on our side the session's start and expiry, the IP address and the browser or device type it was opened from. Sessions last up to 60 days.
- What you save: trips (airports, stops, departure and return times, settings), aircraft (the name you give it, which may be a tail number, true airspeed and cruise altitude), your personal minimums and display settings.
- Trip alerts: if you watch a trip, the trip, your time zone and minimums, and for each device that gets alerts, the push address its browser or phone gives us and a device label such as "iPhone".
- Sign-in code limits: to stop anyone flooding an inbox with codes, we keep a one-way hash of each email address a code was sent to, with the times of its most recent codes.
- Technical logs: our servers and Microsoft Azure Application Insights record requests, errors and performance data, which can include your IP address and browser type.
- Email preference: whether you want news and updates about LegWx, and when and where you chose.
- Briefings you request: the airports and times you ask about are used to build the forecast. Unless you save a trip they are not stored with your account.
- Subscription: if you subscribe, the email it is for, the plan, its status, when it renews or ends, and the Stripe customer and subscription numbers that link it to your payments.
We do not collect your location from your device, your contacts, or payment card numbers. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe, which keeps your card and billing details; we never see your full card number.
On your device
LegWx keeps copies of your trips, aircraft and minimums in your browser's storage so it works quickly, and keeps your most recent forecasts so the last briefing opens without a signal. Signing out removes your saved trips, aircraft and saved forecasts from that device. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and no advertising or tracking cookies.
Email from us
We always send the email the Service needs: sign-in codes and important notices about your account, your subscription or these policies. News and updates about LegWx (new features, tips, offers from unlnk™ about LegWx) are sent only if you leave "Email me news and updates about LegWx" checked when you first sign in. You can turn them off any time under Account → Email, and every news email has an unsubscribe link that takes effect within 10 business days.
How we use it
To sign you in, check that your account has access, show your trips and settings on all your devices, build forecasts, send the alerts you ask for, send sign-in codes and service messages, keep the Service secure and working, and meet legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising and do not sell or rent it.
Who else handles it
We never sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising, and we never give your email address to anyone to email you. The only outside companies that handle your information are the service providers that run parts of LegWx for us, and they may use it only to do that:
- Microsoft Azure (United States, Central US region) hosts the Service, its database, its logs, and the email service that sends sign-in codes.
- Stripe (United States) takes subscription payments, keeps your card and billing details, sends receipts, and runs the page where you manage or cancel your subscription, under Stripe's privacy policy.
- Google, Microsoft and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them, under their own privacy policies.
- Push services run by Apple, Google or your browser's maker deliver trip alerts to your devices. The alert content is encrypted so they cannot read it; they see that an alert was sent to your device.
- Map and chart providers: your browser loads map tiles and weather images directly from US government services (USGS, the FAA, NOAA and the National Weather Service) and from Esri's ArcGIS servers that host some of them, so those services see your IP address and the map area you view.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the safety or rights of people or of the Service, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and saved information until you delete them or your account. Deleted trips and aircraft leave behind a small deletion record for up to 180 days so other devices learn of the deletion. When you delete your account, your account, saved information, alerts and devices are removed from the live database right away; encrypted database backups that still contain them are kept for up to 35 days and then overwritten. Subscription records (the email, plan, dates and Stripe numbers, never card details) are kept after an account is deleted for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and Stripe keeps its own payment records. Technical logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
Your choices and rights
- Download your data: Account → Download my data.
- Correct it: edit your trips, aircraft and settings in the app.
- Delete it: Account → Delete account removes your account and everything saved with it.
- Turn off alerts on a device in the app or in the device's notification settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as to know what we hold about you or to object to some uses. Email info@unlnk.com and we will respond within the time the law requires. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections and is stored in a database that only our own systems can reach, with each person's saved information kept apart at the database level. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects it, as the law requires.
Do Not Track
LegWx does not track you over time or across other websites, and does not let advertisers or analytics companies do so. Because there is no such tracking to turn off, we treat every visit the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. The map and chart services your browser loads directly (listed above) receive ordinary web requests from your browser, under their own policies.
California residents
We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined in California law, and have not done so. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. You may ask to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by using the tools above or emailing info@unlnk.com. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
Children
LegWx is for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where it is processed
LegWx is run from the United States and your information is stored and processed there.
Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
